Curriculum Overview
The founders of Iftin Charter School had a vision that included using a curriculum that teaches students how to become critical thinkers and problem solvers. Our educational program reflects that vision.
The classroom teachers are the backbone of our program. Each teacher uses a variety of assessments to distinguish the learning styles of each child and develop a classroom curriculum that enables students to master the California Content Standards.
Our teachers use Houghton-Mifflin curriculum for Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies content in combination with the Core Knowledge Sequence.
Developed by E.D. Hirsch, the Core Knowledge Sequence is a detailed outline of content-specific material that is taught in grades K-8 in Language Arts, History, Geography, Visual Arts, Music, Math, and Science. The Core Knowledge Sequence works in conjunction with the California Content Frameworks and Standards.
In addition to the core curriculum, students learn and study Arabic.
